What a fantastic time we had at the Seymour Show! Live radio, local performers, great conversations and even a ferret race made it an event to remember for Seymour FM 103.9.

A huge thankyou to the Seymour Show organisers and the Seymour Show Society for welcoming us, supporting our broadcast and making us part of the event. So much work goes into bringing a show like this together, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped make it happen.

Bringing the Show to the airwaves

With Seymour FM playing through the PA system across the park, we loved being part of the atmosphere and sharing the Show with listeners tuning in from elsewhere.

One of the highlights was providing the music for the fireworks, with the soundtrack pumping across the park as the sky lit up.

Our on-air team of Hank, Dave, Tim, Callum, Geoff, Damian and Cas kept the broadcast moving, with Callum heading out for some great field interviews to capture the people and stories around the grounds.

We were also delighted to welcome live performers Georgie and Jemma. A big thankyou to both performers.

Connecting with our community

The best part of an event like this is meeting people. We loved having listeners stop by to say hello, tell us which programs they enjoy and meet some of the voices they hear on air.

People from all walks of life came over for a chat. Whether you’re a regular listener or were discovering Seymour FM for the first time, thankyou for making us part of your day.

We also enjoyed connecting with the Seymour Show Society, the Mitchell Shire CEO, the Historical Society and the Art Society. There were some exciting conversations about how we can work together and bring more local voices, stories and events to the airwaves.

We welcomed new memberships and new sponsors, too. Every new member and sponsor helps support local community radio, and we’re grateful to have you on board.

And, in a slightly unexpected highlight, Seymour FM sponsored a ferret called Wonno in the ferret race! There really was something for everyone.

Thankyou to our volunteers

Behind every outside broadcast is a team putting in plenty of work.

Looking ahead

The weather held out for as long as it could, and we came away with new connections, plenty of good memories and lots to look forward to.

We’re thrilled that the organisers have invited us back next year and are keen to explore an even bigger role for Seymour FM. Those conversations have already started!

To the organisers, volunteers, performers, families, sponsors, members and everyone who stopped by: thankyou for a fantastic Seymour Show.

Keep listening to Seymour FM 103.9 for local voices, local stories and more from our community.
